Where to start

Set the difficulty to Easy — only Room Size will be active. Press New Round, toggle between Target and Yours to hear the difference, then adjust the Room Size knob until your reverb matches the target. Press Check Answer when you're ready.

Use custom settings to test one parameter at a time or any combinatation of parameters.

What to listen for

Room Size — controls the simulated size of the space. A large room size produces a long, diffuse reverb tail that sounds like a concert hall. A small room size sounds tight and close, like a bathroom or small studio booth.

Decay — how long the reverb tail lasts before fading to silence. A long decay (several seconds) sounds ethereal and spacious; a short decay (under a second) sounds natural and contained.

Wet/Dry — the balance between the reverberant signal and the original dry signal. High wet values make the sound feel distant and drenched in space. Low wet values keep the original sound upfront with reverb subtly in the background.

Pre-Delay — a short gap before the reverb tail begins. This separates the dry signal from the reverb, helping the original sound stay clear and upfront. A longer pre-delay makes the reverb feel like it's "following" the sound rather than wrapping around it.

Damping — controls how quickly high frequencies fade in the reverb tail. High damping makes the tail sound warm and dark (like a room with soft furnishings); low damping keeps it bright and airy (like stone or concrete surfaces).
