Equalization (EQ) is the process of adjusting the balance of frequency components in an audio signal. It is one of the most fundamental tools in music production and audio engineering.
A parametric EQ lets you control three main parameters for each band: frequency, gain, and Q. Common frequency ranges include: sub-bass (20–80 Hz), bass (80–250 Hz), low-midrange (250–500 Hz), midrange (500 Hz–2 kHz), upper-midrange (2–6 kHz), and air (8–20 kHz).
